Bradgate Gardens is situated off Edward Street in Anstey to the north of Leicester. The development consists of 31 bungalows completed in 1998.

Facilities include an alarm service and resident manager and gardens.

Leicester is situated on the River Soar and was mentioned in Domesday as Ledecestre and had six churches and two mills. The area had long been settled and the Romans established the Celtic settlement as a walled station known as Ratae Coritamorum. The town was the cathedral see of the Bishop of Leicester until the 9th century when it became a Danish borough and part of the Northern Danelaw. There are many places to visit of historical interest including the remains of a Norman castle, Tudor and Elizabethan houses. Cardinal Wolsey died in Leicester Abbey in 1530 and the remains of this building now form part of Cavendish House Abbey Park.
