Farebrothers : The development is situated off the main street of the village and has good views of the church of St Margaret. It was built by Retirement Lease Housing Association in 1976 and consists of 17 flats and bungalows set around the old vicarage. The properties have been designed to be easily manageable in a secure environment.

Of particular note, and an exceptionally unusual benefit to leaseholders, is the service charge. This not only covers the repair and maintenance of the structure of the buildings alongside heating and maintenance of common parts but includes cover for central heating components, hot water supply and water supply pipes within the individual flats. Unlimited use of the laundry room equipped with modern washing/drying facilities is another benefit covered within the service charage.

Facilities : These include a visiting manager, emergency alarm system in all properties and door entry intercom system in properties in the main house. Parking is provided to the east of the main house. The centre of the village is just a short walk.

HISTORY

Warnham is an ancient settlement and whilst not mentioned in Domesday a chucrh is known to have been in Warnham in the 11th century. It was probably on the site of the present church of St Margaret which stands in a commanding position opposite Farebrothers, in the east area of the parish. Percy Bysshe Shelly was baptized in the church in September 1792. The place name Warnham is a combination of the Old English personal name Werna, and Ham, a village. Today the village still retains its Post Office.

The delightful village of Warnham lies about two miles northwest of the busy market town of Horsham. The village has a selection of small shops, a variety of inns and a mainline railway station.

The nearby town of Horsham is the nearest town in the area and mixes the old with the new having extensive shopping and entertainment facilities as well as excellent restaurants, inns, surgeries, library and hospital. There are also sporting facilities and leisure centre. The rolling hills of the South Downs and the High Weald provide excellent walking country.
