Abbeyfield House was built in 1905 and renovated in 2004 and includes mobility standard and wheelchair facilities. It consists of 11 studio sized, one bedroom flats and there are regular social activities including coffee mornings and visiting entertainers.

Facilities include resident management staff and communal lounge, laundry, lift, dining room and gardens. Meals are provided (two meals seven days a week).

Princes Risborough : is about seven miles south of Aylesbury and was mentioned in Domesday as Riseberge and had two mills. It derived its name from Risborough 'where brushwood grows' and Princes from the Black Prince. It has an attractive town centre with 18th century houses and the brick market house has arcades with a wooden cupola. The 17th century Manor House is now owned by the National Trust and Chequers is a little over a mile to the northeast.

The town has some good shopping and fast trains to London (Marylebone) take about 45 minutes. Monks Risborough to the north is about two miles away and can be walked via the Icknield Way.
