Bailey Court consists of 26 flats with communal facilities situated off Hereford Road and completed in 1989.

Facilities include an alarm service and visiting manager, lift, laundry, guest facilities and garden.

Abergavenny is an old market town on the River Usk about 18 miles north of Newport and the mouth of the Severn. To the north-west are the Black Mountains and Brecon National Park. Abergavenny comes from 'mouth of the River Gafenni' and the river name probably comes from 'the smith' - meaning the ironworks exploited by the Romans. In the 11th century the Normans built a castle here and the town developed with a Benedictine priory of which St Marys in Monck Street is the original church. Old Court is a house which is built into the town walls and dates from the 15th century.
