Eastbourne is very much an elegant creation of the early nineteenth century and, like many seaside resorts, was ‘discovered‘ by the Victorians. Meads Road is close to the Old Town and from Compton Park and the Golf Course you can walk over the downs to the Long Man of Wilmington at Windover Hill.
