Ashfield Place is situated off Ashfield Lane within walking distance of local shops to the east of Chislehurst Common. The development consists of 32 flats with communal facilities built by Fairlight Homes in 1989.

Facilities include an alarm service and resident manager, lift, residents lounge, laundry, conservatory, hairdressing salon, library, guest facilities and garden.

Chislehurst  is named after the 'gravelly wooded hill' and is a suburb of Greater London not far from Bromley. It is famous for the underground chalk galleries known as the Chislehurst Caves possibly excavated by the Romans. Camden Place is where the Antiquary William Camden died in the seventeenth century. The house became home to Napoleon III and the Empress Eugenie in 1871 and there is a memorial to their son, the Prince Imperial, on the common. He died whilst on a reconnaissance patrol with the British Army in the Zulu Wars.
