McKernan Court consists of 55 flats in a three storey building and was completed in 1988. There is limited parking within the development and it is a condition of the tenancy that residents be over the age of 60. In the event of a couple many head leases will allow one person to be over 55.

HISTORY

'Sandhurst' derives its name from a 'sandy wooded hill' and in the C16th was smaller than its neighbour, Finchampstead. After the second world war the Royal Military College at Sandhurst, appropriately built by French prisoners of war, combined with the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and is now the British Army's principal training college for officers.

McKernan Court is ideally located close to the Meadow Shopping Centre which houses a Tesco Extra hypermarket and a Marks & Spencer, reputably two of the largest in the country.

Sandhurst is bordered on the south by the River Blackwater and is about two miles north-west of Camberley. Several of the Yately Lakes along the Blackwater course are within the parish, notably Trilakes with its country park offering a wealth of recreational activities.
