Birch Close consists of 27 bungalows in a small close off Sylvan Avenue and was completed in 1988. The development is about a mile from the centre of town.?

Facilities include a visiting scheme manager and emergency alarm service and attractive gardens and grounds.

Access: There are three passenger and Car Ferry routes from either Portsmouth, Lymington or Southampton and also fast passenger connections by Hovercraft from Southsea, Catamaran from Portsmouth and Hi-Speed Jet from Southampton. Red Funnel car ferries take about 50 minutes from Southampton and they go to East Cowes which is linked to Cowes by a chain ferry known locally as the floating bridge. International Liners and European Ferries dock at Southampton and Portsmouth which makes the Isle of Wight the perfect base for travelling to and from Europe.

Directions: From East Cowes take York Avenue (A3021) and turn left into John Nash Avenue. At the 'T' junction turn right into Sylvan Avenue passing the turning left to Vereker Drive and Birch Close will be found on the left.

Cowes has an impressive selection of pubs and restaurants with a High Street that supplies all of life‘s essentials. There are many specialist shops offering something more unique.

With a population of just over 129,000 the Isle of Wight offers an excellent quality of life in a vibrant community. The island has long been a popular tourist resort with fine beaches and beautiful countryside and two of the islands most impressive natural attractions are just to the west of the River Yar.

Over half the island is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the estuaries National Nature Reserves and a heritage coastline. In the 16th century Henry VIII caused fortifications to be built at Cowes, Sandown and at Yarmouth and only those at Yarmouth survive in their entirety. Yarmouth itself is one of the oldest towns on the island and is set around a square with a market once a month.
