Chiltern Court was completed in 1990 and consists of 19 bungalows adjacent to the green and within walking distance of the shops.

Facilities : These include a visiting manager and emergency alarm service and gardens.

Benson is mentioned in Domesday as having two mills and fisheries. It was here by the lock on the River Thames that the Romans came and where in 777 King Offa of Mercia defeated the South Saxons. Today Benson is an attractive large village with good local shops less than two miles from the old fourteen arch bridge crossing to the larger town of Wallingford.

Wallingford is an equally old settlement at this point of the Thames and has a new Waitrose and several pubs and restaurants and a weekday market. There are many fine old buildings in the High Street and Thames Street. The Town Hall mounted on stone pillars in the market square dates from 1670.

Tenure: Leasehold
