Broadway Cottages consists of 16 two bedroom bungalows and houses.

Kettering was mentioned as Cateringe in Domesday and had two mills. It is situated on the west side of the River Ise, a tributary of the River Nene. Its name is thought to derive from 'the place of Ketter's people'. The area has long been settled and there was a Roman industrial centre to the north of the town. Kettering obtained its market charter in the 13th century and is famous for its crocketed spire on the church of St Peter and St Paul. For many years the town had a prominent footwear industry but today the economy is based on service and distribution industries due to the town's central location and good transport links.
