Broomfield is an attractive old village about three miles north of Chelmsford. It happens to have one of the largest hospitals in the East of England and is a national specialist for the treatment of burns. Sy Marys Church is a Grade II listed building and has a late 11th century nave and a circular Norman tower and the village is also the site of an Anglo-Saxon burial with the treasures now in the British Museum.
