Bushey is a residential town just south of the M1 and about two miles from Watford. It was first mentioned in Domesday as Bissei with two mills and derived its name from 'enclosure near a thicket'. Today there are some good local shops, restaurants and inns with more comprehensive facilities available at Watford. Nearby is Aldenham Country Park and Bushey Golf and Country Club is situated off the High Street.
