Retirement Properties Spotlight in Wigginton

Wigginton: Wigginton is a small village about five miles to the north of York. It is mentioned in Domesday and at the time belonged to the cathedral church of St Peter in York. Its name is thought to derive from 'Wigca's Settlement' and the name subsequently changed to Wichesten and later Wygynton. For many years the village was a small agricultural community but is now largely a commuter village for York. The village has some shops, a nursing home and three inns.
