Winsford : Winsford is an ancient market town situated on the River Weaver north of Nantwich and grew up around its Abbey receiving its first charter in the 13th century. In the 18th century the town became a centre for the ceramics industry and by the late 19th century had become one of the largest producers of salt in the country. The town later expanded in the 20th century with its designation as a New Town.
