The 19th century businessman John Corbett built the original St Andrews Brine Baths helping to turn the town into a spa. He later built a chateau in the style of Francis I which is now the Chateau Impney Hotel. The town has an attractive centre and there are several black-and-white timbered buildings set amongst the shops and restaurants.

Droitwich is about two miles from J5 of the M5 and about five miles southwest of Bromsgrove. Worcester is about six miles and Stourport-on-Severn eight miles. Fast trains from Worcester to London (Paddington) take a little over two hours.
