Fullands Court is situated a mile to the south of Taunton town centre and local facilities are within walking distance. Fullands House, a fine Grade II listed Georgian building, is the centrepiece of the development. The Georgian exterior of the house has been completely restored and the interior has been reconstructed to make six delightful sunny apartments. The west wing provides an office, guest room and courtyard manager‘s accommodation. In addition to the Victorian Gothic Fullands Cottage there are 17 cottages and six apartments in the grounds. They form two contrasting courtyards that take their cue from the architecture of Fullands House itself. The East courtyard is surrounded by magnificent trees and the West courtyard is centred on a fine walnut.

The house in its present form was built in 1812, but it is thought to incorporate parts of an earlier, much larger building. It has had a varied colourful history during which it has housed local military commanders, friars, lunatics and, for much of its life, schoolboys. Among the latter was the future General Gordon of Khartoum. From 1946 it was part of the Kings College.

Taunton is very well placed for rail and road communications with the rest of the country. The M5, which skirts the town, gives quick and easy access to the West Country and the Midlands, and Taunton is the centre of a network of good roads that penetrate to all parts of Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire. The frequent InterCity train service takes less than two hours to London, Bristol is an hour, Exeter half an hour and Plymouth one and half hours.
