Kingswood is about two miles southeast of Tadworth in the North Downs above Reigate. It is a large village just north of the M25 and to the east of Walton-on-the-Hill from which it is separated by the the A217. The village remained a hamlet for much of the middle ages only expanding with the coming of the railway terminus at the end of the 19th century.

Banstead is about six miles to the north and Epsom 14 miles to the northwest and the M25 about four miles to the south.
