Rolle Quay consists of 30 flats  completed in 1989 and for sale with Shared Ownership.

Rolle Quay is situated off Rolle Street close to Piltom Park to the northwest of the town centre.

Barnstaple is thought to be the oldest borough in England and has been the administrative centre of North Devon since Saxon times. The town was founded at the lowest crossing point of the River Taw and at the time had its own mint. In the Middle Ages it was an important port and a market fro the wool trade. In the 16th century the town sent five ships to fight the Armada.

All that remains of Barnstaple castle is the tree covered motte and Castle House stands in the grounds. Queen Anne's Walk, an 18th century colonnade on the river side of the Strand, was once the town's merchant exchange. There are many places of interest to see nearby including Arlington Court and its fine grounds about seven miles north-east of the town and Tapeley Park five miles to the south-west.

Barnstaple is about 27 miles north of Okehampton and about 11 miles from South Molton on the A361.
