Blandford: In the 14th century Blandford had two members of Parliament and a thriving market. Today the tradition has survived with street markets on Thursdays and Saturdays. In 1713 the town was almost destroyed by fire with only about 50 buildings surviving. The process of creating the elegant country town of today took many decades but it has remained largely unchanged since those early Georgian days.

Blandford is located at the crossing point of the Salisbury to Dorchester and Shaftesbury to Poole roads and has excellent shopping and recreational facilities. Railway connections to London are at Gillingham, Poole and Bournemouth.
