Torre de Monaldseschi is a medieval borgo concentrated around the 11th century fortress which once belonged to the Monaldeschi family. The ancient Fortezza Torre de Monaldeschi is set at the highest point of the estate on Mount Nibbio and is being restored. There are a range of properties available in traditional courtyard styles from one and two storey properties with gardens, loggias and terraces to four bedroom four bathroom houses.

Ficulle is only a short distance away and is a typical Umbrian village with cafes and a small selection of shops. Orvieto is the main town in the region and its town walls resemble the natural rock face. It is also a well known white wine which the Etruscans first made and has an enhanced flavour due to the volcanic soils in the local vineyards. Orvieto's Duomo is thought to be one of the finest of its period with horizontal bands of white travertine and dove grey tufa and in the Cappella di San Brizio are the frescos by Signorelli.
The Palazzo Faina has Etruscan sculpture and pottery and is one of the most important collections in Umbria. The Pozzo di San Patrizio is a sixteenth century well of over 60 metres built for a siege on the orders of Pope Clement VII.

Torre de Monalseschi is situated between two of Italy's major art cities, Rome and Florence, and within easy reach of the international airports of Fiumicino and Ciampino, the A1 Milan-Naples motorway (exits Orviteto and Fabro which are the nearest towns). Umbria is in the centre of the Italian peninsula between the regions of Tuscany, Marches, Latium and Abruzzi.
