Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate is situated in the Western Cape province in the heart of the Boland winelands just a fifty minute drive from Cape Town. Some sections of the estate are now offered for country living for those who want a wine farm lifestyle with all the advantages and none of the responsibilities. The first vineyards were planted by Max Sonnenberg in the 1970's and in 2000 Richard Sonnenberg built his own cellar and started producing award-winning estate wines. Current plantings include Shiraz, Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. All the smallholdings, courtyard and fynbos mountain view sites are positioned in and around the vineyards to offer owners panoramic views in a secure environment. There are also views of du Toit's Kloof and Kasteelberg with dramatic sunsets on summer evenings.

The Diemersfontein Wine and Country Estate is about a fifty minute drive straight up the N1. Wellington is about eighteen miles from Exit 47. Cape Town itself is well placed for road and rail communications provided you want to travel north. Johannesburg is about 957 miles. Stellenbosch is about 32 miles and Hermanus 63 miles. There are frequent flights to Durban taking about two hours. London is about 6000 miles by sea and takes a little over ten hours to fly.
