St Georges Park at Ditchling Common lies in the first fold of the beautiful South Downs with over 250 acres of woodland walks. Nearby Ditchling Beacon at 813 feet offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the common itself has over 180 acres of open country. St Georges Park, originally a care home founded by Canon Peter Maes from Bruges, is being comprehensively refurbished with new apartments being built in the grounds. The hub of the village is the highly specified Community Centre with a restaurant, bar, hairdressing salon, library, shop and games room.
Further facilities to follow in later phases will include a leisure block with indoor pool, fitness room and gym. Outside there will be a tennis court and from spring 2011 a bowling green and croquet lawn. The beautiful grounds with fishing lake offer numerous walks for the residents to enjoy.
