Bicester is an historic market town situated in the valley of the River Ray, midway between the Chiltern Hills and the Cotswolds. In Domesday it was known as Bernecestre and had two mills. Sixteenth century houses survive in the market square and today it remains a busy shopping centre north of the M40 connecting with Buckingham.

Bicester has good road and rail communications. The town is reached directly from London via the A41, and has easy routes to Banbury, Oxford, Warwick and all parts of the Midlands and the North. Bicester‘s main line railway station runs direct to London (Marylebone) in less than an hour and a half.
