Dunblane : Dunblane is about five miles north of Stirling with views over Allan Water and is famous for its cathedral with its fine 13th century architecture and west front much admired by Ruskin. The town also has the oldest private library open to the public - the Leighton Library, with the Archbishop of Glasgows' 17th century collection. The town became a Victorian spa and is now very much a residential and tourist centre for the Ochil Hills and Perthshire Highlands.
