Eton lies on the north bank of the River Thames close to Windsor. It's long association with one of England's oldest public schools goes back to the 15th century when Henry VI founded the chapel and Lower School off the main street. Windsor nearby has a more comprehensive shopping centre together with a mainline railway service with trains to both London (Paddington) and (Waterloo). Communications are excellent with the M4 at Junction 6 about a mile and Heathrow about six miles away.
