Bray was mentioned in Domesday as Brai and belonged to the King. At the time it was much larger than Maidenhead. Today it is a popular Thames-side village hedged in by the M4 to the south but still surrounded by countryside. It is well known for two famous restaurants. Just outside the village is the Jesus Hospital founded in the early 17th century to look after poor people of the parish.
Facilities include estate management services and attractive gardens.
