Find retirement developments in some of the finest towns and villages in Bradford-on-Avon
Bradford-on-Avon : It is just a short walk along Junction Road into St Margarets Street which connects with Silver Street and the town centre. Whilst Bradford-on-Avon - 'Broad Ford' - is an old Saxon town - the church of St Lawrence dates from about AD 700, it also has some wonderfully preserved Georgian buildings including Belcombe Court by John Wood the Elder who developed much of Bath. The town has good local shopping and a health centre and attractive walks by the river. The nine arched bridge has a seventeenth century chapel built to replace an earlier one. The local bus service passes Fitzmaurice Place and buses also run to Bath and Trowbridge.
