Retirement Properties Spotlight in Thornaby

Thornbay is a market town about four miles southeast of Stockton-on-Tees with a long association with the Royal Air Force. The Royal Flying Corps first began using some fields there during the first World War and RAF Thornby is remembered in the many references to the airbase in the town. There is a full size replica of a spitfire on the Thonnby Road roundabout where Bader Avenue and Trenchard Avenue also meet. The town has recently undergone considerable redevelopment with new shopping areas and leisure facilities. Thornaby railway station has services going to Newcastle and Liverpool. and other major towns.
