Platt is a village about six miles east of Sevenoaks with good access to the M26 just north of Wrotham Haeth. It has a Grade II listed church, St Mary the Virgin, built in the 19th century.
Sevenoaks is an attractive town just south of the M25 and named presumably after the famous tree. Today it is a busy commuter town with good shopping and attractive parks and gardens. One of the oldest cricket grounds in England is to be found in Sevenoaks and also one of the largest houses at Knowle which is just southwest of the town. In June 1450 the Battle of Sevenoaks took place in which a Royalist force was routed by Kentish rebels. Sevenoaks School was founded in the 15th century by a Lord Mayor of London.
