Coatbridge is about eight miles east of Glasgow and famous for being a major centre of the industrial revolution in the 19th century. The area became well known for its iron works and coal mining but these industries declined in the 20th century. The town has good communications with the M8 and M73 being nearby and more than five stations on different railway lines.
