Little Baddow was mentioned in Domesday as Baduuer and belonged to Count Eustace and had a mill, ten cobs, 53 cattle and 163 sheep. It is a popular commuter village surrounded in part by National Trust woodland with a local pub. St Marys church was built in the 12th century and has a magnificent 14th mural, effigies and memorials.
