Dinas Powys was an ancient stronghold and remains have been found of Neolithic Stone age artefacts as well as pottery from the 5th and 6th centuries. The village remained a successful farming community for much of the middle ages and then expanded in the 19th century with the coming of the railways. Local facilities are good with a good range of village shops and small supermarkets, pubs and restaurants and easy access to Cardiff which is about five miles to the southwest.
Facilities include non-resident management and emergency alarm service.
