Retirement Properties Spotlight in Padstow

Padstow was mentioned in Domesday as Lanwenehoc and was named for St Petroc who founded a monastery here in the 6th century. It lies on the west bank of the Camel estuary and is a popular resort with access to sandy beaches and good restaurants and shops. It is still a fishing port with quays and the Camel Trail leads from here with views across the water following the old railway line to Bodmin. There are regular ferry services to Rock to the east where there are more sandy beaches and access to St Enodoc church almost buried in the sands but with beautiful views. It is where John Betjeman is buried.
