Aldeburgh : Aldeburgh is a delighful town and grew up around shipbuilding in the 16th century. Both the Pelican and Greyhound, Drake‘s ships, were built here. In the 17th century the church of St Peter and St Paul, peering over the rooftops towards the sea, acquired a ‘lookout‘ to help stop raiding by French pirates.
