Find retirement developments in some of the finest towns and villages in Willingham
Willingham is a large village mentioned in Domesday as Wivelingham and belonged to Abbot of Ely. It lies about 12 miles northwest of Cambridge south of the Great Ouse. The area has long been settled but due to the low lying land was often flooded until the 18th century when the Fens were drained by windmills two of which remain in the village. St Marys Church was built in the 14th century on the site of an earlier building and has an angel-carved double hammerbeam roof.
