Find retirement developments in some of the finest towns and villages in Wendover
Wendover was mentioned in Domesday as Wendoure and had two mills close to the ancient Icknield Way which runs just to the east of the town. There are many attractive eighteenth century buildings lining the High Street including the half timbered Lion Hotel where Cromwell stayed in 1643. The town has some good local shops, a library, health centre, a weekly market and mainline station with frequent trains to London (Marylebone) taking about fifty minutes. The county town of Aylesbury is about five miles to the northwest and has an excellent shopping centre and numerous sports facilities.
Abbeyfield House is situated off Dobbins lane close to the centre of Wendover within walking distance of the high street.
