Haddenham was mentioned in Domesday as Nedreham with two mills and belonged to Archbishop Lanfranc. The old centre is well preserved with a pond for breeding ducks by the 12th century Church of St Marys.The village is unusual in having wychert walls made of white clay and straw topped by thatch or tiles and many can be seen today. There are several shops, pubs and restaurants and a railway station with services to London (Marylebone) and Birmingahm ( Snow Hill)
