Gerrards Cross is a popular town about four miles east of Beaconsfield with excellent communications. The M25 is easily accessible via the M40 at Denham about three miles away. Heathrow is about 20 minutes by car and the West End of London about half an hour along the Western Avenue (A40). The town got its name from a local 17th century family called either Jarrard or Gerrard. It has some good shops and a mainline railway station and fast trains to London (Marylebone) take less than half an hour.
