Watcombe les about three miles north of the seaside resort of Torquay and is really an outer suburb of the town. It is just a short walk to a well known cove by the sea popular with walkers in the summer due to the fine views over Babbacombe Bay and its natural setting. Torquay is well known for its panoramic setting overlooking Tor Bay. It probably got its name from 'a quay near Torre' with reference to a jetty built by the monks of Torre Abbey in the 12th century. Sheltered by its famous red cliffs, Torquay‘s mild climate supports palm trees and sub-tropical flowers and as a prime health resort has attracted visitors for over a century. The superb beach and harbour with its fine marina provide a centre for all summer sports.
Facilities include non-resident management and emergency alarm service.
