Sparkwell is an attractive village on the edge of Dartmoor National Park in the South Hams district of Devon. The area is the most southerly part of Devon and is reputed to have the mildest climate in Britain and summed up by John Leland as 'the frutefullest part of all Devonshire'. It lies to the north of the A38 about eight miles from Plymouth and remains a rich agricultural region. The Dartmoor Zoo is nearby and there is a golf course at Welbeck Manor.
Facilities include a visiting Estate Manager to look after the gardens and grounds.
