South Brent is situated just off the A38 about five miles south of Buckfastleigh in the south eastern corner of Dartmoor National Park. The village has local shops and lies in an area settled in the Bronze age  with many burial monuments nearby. It is a popular holiday destination and a good base to explore the surrounding countryside with many moorland walks as well as those along the River Avon.
