Princetown : Princetown is a small town in the centre of the Dartmoor National Park and thought to be the highest in England at over 1400 feet above sea level. The High Moorland Visitor Centre explains the history and wildlife of the area and the Two Moors Way connects Dartmoor and Exmoor. Princetown's prison used to house Napoleonic prisoners of War and today the Dartmoor Prison Museum has an interseting collection of artefacts.
At Postbridge to the north of Princetown is the best example of a 'clapper' bridge built in the early middle ages of large slabs of granite over the East Dart.
