Hednesford is a small town next to Cannock Chase to the north and Cannock to the south. For many years the town was an important coal mining community. In the early 20th century the town was an important base for troops on their way through to the Western Front and after World War II RAF Hednesford was turned into Cannock Chase Counrty Park.
