Bootle is a village within the National Lake District Park about seven miles northwest of Millom. Bootle was given a market charter in the 14th century and was said to be the smallest market town in England. Bootle railway station is in the hamlet of Hycemoor a little over a mile away and Millom to the south with its ruined castle is about seven miles away.
