Chelsea is well known for being one of the most fashionable addresses in London and lies north of the Thames close to the West End with a sought after SW3 postal code. The exclusive and bustling nature of some of its streets is in stark contrast to the more sober and naturally elegant atmosphere of Belgavia but Chelsea retains its charm.
The Synods of Chelsea were held in the late 8th century but little of note happened for the next 1000 years or so until the area became increasingly popular with rich merchants due to its proximity to London. The famous Kings Road is so named after Charles II's journeys from St James Palace to Fulham.
