Prudhoe is a small town about eight miles to the west of Newcastle situated on a steep hill in the Tyne valley. Prudhoe was once a coal mining town and today it is known for its badger, a sculpture 30 metres long and built of stone and marble next to the roundabout on the A695 Road at Low Prudhoe. The town is on the Tyne Valley railway link.
