Rothbury : Rothbury is an old market town on the north bank of the River Coquet and a popular tourist destination. Surrounded by beautiful countryside close to the Simonside Hills and the Northumberland National Park it is excellent walking country. In the middle ages the twon was an important centre for livestock trade and the woollen industry. An Anglican cross in the town's church survived the conquest.
