Nettleham is mentioned in Domesday as Netelone and had a church and nine mills. It later had a Bishop's Palace but only the earthworks now survive in Bishops Palace Field. All Saints church has a Saxon tower with medieval and later additions. The old village centre is a conservation area with stone cottages set around the green. There are a number of shops, pubs and restaurants and Muslanne Park has facilities for various sporting activities including tennis, football and cricket. There is also a boules rink.
