Lincoln is an ancient settlement having been important in Roman times as the intersection of the Fosse Way and Ermine Street. It rises from the north bank of the River Witham and its name possibly derives from 'Lindon pool' referring to the large pool here. By the time of Domesday it was the fourth largest town in England along with London, York and Norwich.
Facilities include visiting staff and community alarm service, and some meals available in the Nursing Home.
