Retirement Properties Spotlight in Middleton

Rochdale lies on the River Roch about ten miles northeast of Manchester and was mentioned in Domesday. In the 13th century the town received its first charter and in the middle ages became an important centre in the cloth trade. The town expanded considerably in the 19th century with textile manufacturing and the new Rochdale canal allowed easy transportation of goods. Today Rochdale is principally a residential and commuter town for Manchester.
